David O’Neil presented his in-depth investment thesis on The Vietnam Investment Opportunity at Asian Investing Summit 2015.

About the instructor:

David O’Neil serves as Chief Investment Officer of Asean Investment Management, a deep value investment manager focused on small and micro-cap stocks in Southeast Asia. David has a professional background in investment analysis particularly focused on selecting listed small cap companies in emerging Asian markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, and others. He has had several years of experience in traditional fund management houses in New Zealand including AMP Investments and Westpac Investment Management (1991-1994). In these companies his role encompassed equity research, stock selection, portfolio management, asset allocation and portfolio optimization. He also had a number of years of experience in management at traditional equity broking research houses such as Prudential Bache Securities in Australia, and BZW and Lippo Securities in Indonesia (1995-1998). He was generally responsible for developing and promoting multi-sector equity research. Following which, he listed his own company on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and later exited, pursuing active investments pan-Asia until he co-founded Asean Investment Management in 2005. David has also obtained his professional qualification in New Zealand as a member of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts, as well as graduating with his BCA in Accounting & Finance from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
