Humphrey Nokes has considerable experience of financing technology companies with both equity and debt. Prior to founding Cygna Negra he was the Founder and Chairman of the Investment Committee of ETV Capital, one of Europe’s leading venture lenders, where he has raised and invested €300 million over the last 10 years in over 130 patent backed technology, biotechnology and healthcare companies across Europe, the US and Israel. Previously, he was at Quartz Capital Partners, a specialist European technology investment bank where he completed numerous public and private capital raisings for European technology and life science companies. He started his career at Lehman Brothers in London in the Fixed Income Group. Humphrey was a member of the supervisory board for Brainpower NV, a software company listed on the Deutsche Börse, which was sold to Bloomberg LLP. He was also a non-executive director of Searchspace PLC, a company spun out of University College London, which was sold to Warburg Pincus. He was a member of a UK Government Department of Trade & Industry Mission to report on high technology spin-outs from Universities in Silicon Valley & Boston USA, Israel, Taiwan and Malaysia. He was educated at Trinity College Dublin, EAP and London Business School.
