MOI Global instructor Dave Sather, President of Sather Financial Group, recently hosted Michael Zapata, Chief Investment Officer of Sententia Capital Management and Executive Chairman of Schmitt Industries, for a talk at Texas Lutheran University.
Mike holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School). He was commissioned as a Naval officer in May 2001. Mike served as a Navy SEAL and deployed seven times during the Global War on Terrorism. He transitioned out of the military to attend Columbia Business School in 2011 and earned his master’s degree with a focus on investment management.
Mike spoke with members of the Bulldog Investment Company and members of the TLU and Seguin communities. Bulldog Investment Company recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary.
With the help and leadership of Sather Financial Group and founder Dave Sather ’89, students have been using Warren Buffett’s value investing philosophy to study financial statements and competitive advantages of different companies to see if they make sense to include in client portfolios.
