Editor’s note: I asked Charles about the potential impact of AI on Flywire. In addition to answering the question during the session, Charles followed up with this additional insight: “Surprisingly, AI did not receive much attention in our primary research process for Flywire. Most likely, that is because FLYW is a software company that primarily monetizes through payments. It not a ‘seat-based’ revenue model subject to AI driven volume reductions at customers. Accordingly, AI is not seen as a threat to Flywire. Meanwhile, senior management is very focused on the opportunity to harness AI to increase developer efficiency and, ultimately, operating margins.”
