Azhar Quader presented his in-depth investment thesis on Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA) at Best Ideas 2017.

Azhar Quader has a track record of success in starting and building entrepreneurial ventures along with over 15 years of investment and managerial experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Quader’s experience in finance spans both sell-side and buy-side firms including a broad range of roles ranging from research, structuring, principal investing, capital raising, product management, trading and investment banking. Mr. Quader started his career within the Fixed Income division at Credit Suisse where he structured and traded a variety of credit derivative products and built an expertise in securitization. His experience encompassed multiple products within fixed income including interest rates, structured products, asset-backed securities, HY/distressed credit, leveraged loans, CLOs, credit default swaps, trade claims, and various derivative products.

After CS, Mr. Quader moved to Morgan Stanley and joined a principal investing group where he invested up and down the capital structure in multiple industries, asset classes and geographies. Mr. Quader also helped wind down legacy positions and proprietary trading businesses post the financial crisis and subject to Dodd-Frank/Volcker.

Mr. Quader went on to work with a family office on mid-market private equity, illiquid credit, real estate and structured credit transactions. Mr. Quader build a portfolio of 250 single family homes from scratch that he rented out and exited the investment successfully at a high multiple of invested capital. Subsequently, Mr. Quader worked at Perry Capital where he focused on idea generation, research and opportunistic investing in both public and private markets – up and down the capital structure.

Most recently Mr. Quader started Queens Court Capital, an investment firm focused on public and private opportunities backed by a few large family offices. Mr. Quader represented the founding investor group and sits on the Board of Convene (www.convene.com), a fast growing workplace hospitality company based in New York ranked by Crains as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Brookfield Asset Management, a $280B investment manager, recently led a $20m round of investment into Convene, validating the business.

Mr. Quader is also an early investor and advisor to several promising ventures including ClearServe (FinTech software company), Montrose Environmental (environmental testing rollup), Lavu (restaurant tech company), Click Therapeutics (Digital Therapeutics company), Epibone (a leading stem cell biotech company), and Cinematique (a leading advertising technology company).

Mr. Quader received his BA in Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University. He also received an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. Mr. Quader resides in New York City with his wife.
