Mohnish Pabrai on His Evolution as an Investor, Lessons from Nick Sleep

February 4, 2021 in Audio, Best Ideas 2021, Best Ideas 2021 Featured, Diary, Equities, Featured, Ideas, Transcripts

Mohnish Pabrai of Pabrai Investment Funds joined fellow MOI Global members for a talk and Q&A session at Best Ideas 2021.

Mohnish discussed some of the insights he has taken from his conversations with Nick Sleep, whom he has known for a long time. Sleep is famous for concentrating his portfolio in a small number of investments, including Amazon.com and Costco, and holding those companies for a very long time.

Mohnish described how his own approach has evolved as a result of Sleep’s insights and Mohnish’s own decades-long investment experience.

We discussed Mohnish’s global hunt for attractive long-term investment opportunities, including in Turkey, Korea, China, Japan, and India.

Companies mentioned in the session included Ferrari, Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Google, Alibaba, Coca Cola Icecek, Tesla, Snowflake, and Salesforce.

Mohnish also shared an item he added to his investment checklist in 2020.

The full session is available exclusively to members of MOI Global.
